The Orthodox Summer Camp

And have you ever seen a priest at camp? This is your chance! Our priests are with us all week and guide each group with catechesis and conversations about what matters to you. They’re always there to answer your questions and experience the faith together with you.

Together with the whole camp, we prepare for confession in the evening by candlelight, and the next day we go to Communion together.

And how do we wrap up this fantastic week? With a spectacular party at the end!

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up and join us for this unforgettable camp experience!

Who Is the Camp For?

The Orthodox Summer Camp is for anyone who attends the Orthodox Church. Are you between 7 and 18 years old? Then you’re more than welcome!

Are you older but still want to join? Then sign up as a counselor!

Are you ready for a summer full of adventure?

The Orthodox Summer Camp is the perfect place to meet children and young people from Orthodox churches across the Netherlands and Belgium!

Just imagine: camping in a big tent under a sparkling starry sky, surrounded by nature doesn’t that sound amazing?

Every day at camp is a new adventure! Go on a six-event competition with your friends in the woods, swim together, or build rafts and roast marshmallows by the campfire. Talk with your peers about faith and see how much there is to discover in the Church.

This is the place where you can be yourself and where real friendships are formed!

Praying Together

Together we are one camp, which is why we begin and end each day together in the church tent. Everyone is here: all the children, the camp leaders, the kitchen team, and of course the priests.

The church is decorated by the children with crafts and flowers. Candles are lit, and the icons glisten in the light. Every child receives a prayer book, made especially for the camp, containing morning and evening prayers. The prayers are read aloud and sung by everyone. This is a wonderful experience.

After the morning prayers, we listen to a reading from the Holy Scriptures and a sermon by the priest. The sermons are tailored to the camp’s theme and prepare the children for the highlight of the camp: receiving Communion.

Sports

On one of the days, we’ll hold a hexathlon. All the kids and camp counselors will take part in the athletic games. This is a chance for everyone to get to know each other better through teamwork and friendly competition. Can your group score the most points?

Games

Do I hear a wolf? Or is it the teen counselors who have once again set up an exciting scavenger hunt in the dark woods? Our counselors love playing in the woods. The camp is full of all kinds of fun and creative activities for every age group. Building rafts on the water, searching for treasure in the woods, chasing each other at night, or even survival challenges! One thing we know for sure: you won’t be bored.
